Collaborative Consulting Launches Initiative in US to Reduce Offshore IT Challenges

 

Burlington, MA – Collaborative Consulting, an IT consulting services firm, launched an initiative this week that will significantly reduce or eliminate the increasing challenges encountered in offshore service delivery while keeping the cost of service significantly lower than traditional local models. Collaborative will achieve this goal through a combination of strategic location choice, customized training, and leveraging of its existing delivery approach and team.

 

The first site, announced this week, will be in Wausau, Wisconsin.

 

This initiative will return jobs to the U.S. as it provides competitively priced services focused on software development, integration, testing and support.  Collaborative has been conducting extensive analysis of the best U.S. locations for its solution center program which will allow client companies to begin using a U.S. site based model as opposed to the currently favored offshore approach in which services are delivered from sites in India, China, the Philippines and other distant locations.

 

Collaborative Consulting provides IT consulting services to national and international firms in many business sectors with a particular focus on life sciences and financial services and is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Robichaud Monday joined Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker and Wausau Mayor Jim Tipple in announcing Collaborative’s first site location to be placed in Wausau. The company expects to add 200 jobs in Wausau in the next three years, with other potential future sites in states such as Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, and West Virginia in consideration as well.  Collaborative believes that it can help break the current industry model of “offshoring” IT jobs by offering services to its clients that are price competitive, higher quality, and less burdensome on client personnel.

 

Collaborative selected Wausau as its new location after a detailed analysis determined the city has the right profile for this type of operation, which has in the past several years been typically sited offshore.   The consulting company will hire Wisconsin computer programmers, testers and other staff, and will provide specialized training.
