SOA Readiness Assessment
Collaborative has developed an exceptional capability to examine an organization’s technology profile, and figure out what it must do to benefit as much as possible from SOAs.Collaborative studies companies in terms of their business process activities, architectures, and the projects, applications, and “building blocks” currently in place. We also consider companies’ current SOA strategies. Among different companies, SOA strategies vary tremendously, from having none at all, to ad hoc adoption plans and shared services models, to fully documented and established policies that have been rolled out and tested across multiple business units.
We assess an organization’s ability to adopt SOAs from a cultural standpoint. As with many other initiatives that affect the entire enterprise, SOAs must be embraced throughout the organization, or they will fall short of expectations, or perhaps even fail. Support begins with sponsorship from the executive suite, and also requires buy-in from business process, architecture, IT and data experts, among others.
Collaborative readiness assessments include no software or hardware purchases. Instead, we maintain a sharp focus on adding significant business value by optimizing existing assets.
